The Credible Nerds Hall of Fame
Sometimes characters, items, or creatures are so impactful and larger than life that we here at The Credible Nerds feel that they deserve a special place in fandom and on our website. As a result, we have created the The Credible Nerds Hall of Fame to honor those that deserve it!
Henry Cavill - Class of 2021
The inaugural induction and the inspiration for The Credible Nerds Hall of Fame! This man is a nerd at heart and has the resume to back it up. Henry Cavill was cast as Clark Kent/Kal-El/Superman in Man of Steel and the subsequent Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Justice League films. Considered by many to be THE Superman, he definitely gives a great performance in these Superman films.
Henry Cavill is also portraying Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher series from Netflix. Henry reads fantasy novels, plays video games, is heavily involved in Warhammer 40000, and even builds his own gaming computers. Follow him on social media, mainly Instagram, @HenryCavill, to see his latest projects that he is working on.
Henry Cavill is who we all aspire to be - a fit, good looking, successful Nerd. He is one of us!
2. Andy Serkis - Class of 2022
Our second inductee burst on to the fantasy scene portraying Gollum with his voice acting and motion capture of this sneaky, conniving, and tragic character in the early 2000’s. Andy Serkis has since been involved in the biggest movie and literary franchises in history. After bringing life to Sméagol/Gollum from the Lord of the Rings trilogy, he also portrayed King Kong in the 2005 version of King Kong, gave an amazing performance as Ceasar in Matt Reeves’ Planet of the Apes trilogy, and then reprised his role as Gollum in The Hobbit trilogy.
Since then Andy Serkis climbed up the Nerd ladder even higher by joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe by portraying the smuggler Ulysses Klaue in Avengers: Age of Ultron and then in Black Panther. Then Andy Serkis upped the bar even higher as he gave life to Supreme Leader Snoke in the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy. Andy Serkis is not only an accomplished and talented actor, he also directed Sony Marvel’s Venom: Let There Be Carnage! Now, this year we will see Andy Serkis in a live action role as Bruce Wayne’s butler, Alfred Pennyworth, in DC’s soon to be released The Batman.
An actor with roles in multiple major and iconic franchises such as The Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, DC, Marvel, King Kong and Planet of the Apes and then combined with his skill set, makes Andy Serkis a no brainer for being inducted into The Credible Nerds Hall of Fame for 2022!
3. Harrison Ford - Class of 2023
Some may ask “What took you guys so long to get him in the Hall of Fame?!”, to which we respond: “I know, right?!” Harrison Ford is one of the most iconic movie actors in Hollywood, and has portrayed some of the most memorable characters in cinema history. He is definitely a no brainer to add to The Credible Nerds Hall of Fame. Indeed we induct him into this prestigious organization as the Class of 2023 HoF Inductee. There were some good nominations this year, but his resume and longevity was the deciding factor.
Harrison Ford has memorably portrayed the smuggler, turned Rebel General Han Solo in the Star Wars Saga. As well as the rugged archeologist Indiana Jones in the 5 movies series The Adventures of Indiana Jones. He also brought life to Rick Deckard in the two Blade Runner movies. He has also portrayed other sci-fi roles in his career in movies such as, Cowboys and Aliens, Ender’s Game, and Age of Adeline. He is set to next join the MCU in the upcoming Captain America 4 - Brave New World. Outside of the nerd realm, he has been a part of many films and has portrayed multiple memorable characters as well.
With the completion of the 5 film Indiana Jones movie series that began in 1981 with Raiders of the Lost Ark and culminated in 2023’s Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (check out our reviews!), it seemed fitting that he would be honored for his lifetime of amazing work.
Harrison Ford has cemented himself into pop culture and Hollywood history due to his memorable roles, but his Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and Blade Runner roles tend to be the most iconic and longest lasting. He has brought coolness to the nerd world and many of us grew up watching him bring life to our favorite characters in our favorite franchises and wanted to be like him when he grew up. So for these reasons, and more, Harrison Ford is our 2023 The Credible Nerds Hall of Fame inductee!
