Bad Batch Season 2 Panel - Star Wars Celebration Anaheim 2022

June 02, 2022 by Justin Brady in Disney+, Podcasts, Star Wars, Star Wars Celebration

In this panel we hear briefly from Dave Filoni about the crew that is working on the Bad Batch and how much he trusts them and how he really is enjoying their work on the Bad Batch. The crew, Brad Rau, Jennifer Corbett, Matt Michnovetz, and the voice actors Dee Bradley Baker and Michelle Ang, provided some insight on the show the Bad Batch and it’s creation and production. Dee Bradley Baker and Michelle Ang talked about the voice acting process and how much they enjoy it, they also went through a scene on stage to show us how versatile DBB is and how he can switch from one clone to another without any hesitation. It is an amazing thing to watch.

We got a sneak peek from season 2 (which I was unable to record due to security being very watchful) with the Bad Batch being attacked by multiple giant crab type monsters. The animation was superb and showcased the teams new look, but the scene wasn’t that meaningful in regards to the overall story (You can see some of this in the official released trailer).

We also saw the Season 2 trailer and a familiar character is back - Commander Cody who is still working for the Empire, but also questioning their methods. We see The Emperor make an appearance, but he’s looking more Darth Sidious than Palpatine in the short clip we see. We also get to see an appearance of the Wookiee Jedi, Gungi, who appears to have survived Order 66 - at least up to this point.

The trailer was very cinematic and very impressive in it’s animation quality and the grand scope of this story of a galactic conflict is captured very well. At times it was just as good as the movies.

You can actually see the official trailer on the Star Wars YouTube channel, but it is different from what we saw in the panel.
